About the university
In 1918 the Petrograd Higher Party School was established. In 1920, the highest party school was part of the Communist University named after GE Zinoviev. In 1935 it was closed together with the Communist University. Reconstituted in 1944 as a one-year party school at the Leningrad Regional Committee and the city committee of the CPSU (B.) With accommodation in the Tauride Palace. In August 1946, transformed into a two-year party school at the Leningrad Regional Committee and the City Committee of the CPSU (b) In 1953 it was transformed into a three-year party school at the Leningrad Regional Committee of the CPSU.
