About the university
National University of Villa María Villa María has a remarkable educational infrastructure. In 1993, there were twenty one kindergartens, twenty two primary schools, fourteen secondary schools, and six tertiary non-university institutions. There was also a Regional Faculty of Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, and an Economic Sciences Faculty Extension of Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. The 21st of December, 1994, the House or Representatives passed the Bill creating UNVM. The Bill was definitely sanctioned by Law Nº 24.484, creating UNVM in April 1995, by the unanimous vote of the Senate. Soon after, the Executive promulgated the law. In September 1995, The Ministry of Culture and Education appointed Carlos Domínguez, CPA, as Provisional Rector. Established in 1996, Universidad Nacional de Villa María (National University of Villa María) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Villa María (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Cordoba.
