About the university
The Virtual University of Quilmes (UVQ) is the educational proposal on the Internet of the National University of Quilmes, based in the town of Bernal, in the Buenos Aires Party of Quilmes. It was created by resolution of the rectorate issued "ad-referendum" of the Superior Council (C.S.) No. 616/98 and homologated by resolution (C.S.) No. 147/98 on December 15, 1998. It is a non-face-to-face education initiative that uses the Qoodle technology platform, based on Moodle, as a medium and environment for the realization of its undergraduate and graduate training proposals. The first virtual classroom was opened on March 15, 1999, with UNQ being the Argentine university pioneer in carrying out this type of projects. The Virtual Campus is a possibility of university education accessible from anywhere and at any time, from the Internet connection. In this sense, the teaching and learning processes are basically asynchronous, that is, they do not require the temporary coincidence of students and teachers.
