About the university
The University Institute of Mental Health was created by the Psychoanalytic Association of Buenos Aires. IUSAM is dedicated to teaching, training professionals and research in the disciplines that study Mental Health, and to providing services to the community in this area of knowledge, with an interdisciplinary approach. Its purpose is the generation and communication of knowledge at the highest level, in a climate of freedom, justice and solidarity, its primary purposes are teaching, research and service provision, offering interdisciplinary human and cultural training aimed at Integration of knowledge as well as scientific and professional training, contributing to promote the development of knowledge aimed at understanding, study, prevention and assistance in the field of mental health. One of the main objectives of IUSAM is to become a center of excellence at the national and international levels, dedicated to promoting adequate diversification of studies, with special attention to the care, prevention and support of Mental Health of individuals, their families and The human groups, taking into account the demands that exist in that sense, both in the community and in the culture, to assure levels of quality, excellence and updating of the disciplines in which it focuses its activity, and to improve human resources specialized in Care, improvement and preservation of the Mental Health of society.
