About the university
Asian University for Women (AUW) is an independent, international university in Chittagong, Bangladesh seeking to educate a new generation of leaders in Asia. AUW admits students solely on the basis of merit, regardless of their family's income level, and nearly all students are on full scholarship with many as the first in their family to attend university. AUW offers two pre-collegiate bridge programs called Access Academy and Pathways for Promise, as well as a three-year undergraduate program based in the liberal arts and sciences. The University is committed to graduating generations of women leaders who will tackle their countries' social, economic, and political issues while collaborating across cultural, ethnic, and religious lines. AUW has more than 600 students enrolled from 15 countries across Asia and the Middle East.

We admit new students in two sessions, one in Spring (Classes start in January) and again in Fall (Classes start in Fall). AUW has a student faculty ratio of 13:1 as opposed to much higher student-to-teacher ratios in the region. AUW provides extensive English language support for our students at our Teaching and Learning Center that is staffed by qualified English writing specialists.
Student visa
We assist student in VISA process, our alumnae and partners in those countries are always there to help new students alongside our Admissions office. Our Admission team will be guiding students personally on the VISA process, do note VISA cost has to be borne by the student. Bangladesh requires student to arrive with Student VISA for studies.
Accommodation
AUW has inhouse dorms and all foreign students have to stay inside our campus only. Students come to AUW from great distances and diverse perspectives. The Residence Halls are broken into 7 Houses: Wisdom, Truth, Justice, Courage, Imagination, Service, and Joy. Each House has Resident Assistants (RA).AUW provides its students with a wide range of healthy, delicious, and balanced meals from a variety of cuisines.
Scholarships
AUW strives to meet the demonstrated financial need of each admitted student and offers full and partial scholarships based on each student’s financial circumstances. All financial aid awards are assessed prior to the beginning of each academic program.Transfer students are ineligible for financial aid. Only one member of a family is eligible for Full Scholarship /Financial Aid at AUW.
