About the university
The first Saint-Luc school was therefore founded in Ghent. On March 1, 1878, a school called Saint-Luc was established in Tournai, first in the Rue du Four Chapitre, then at the Rue du Curé Notre-Dame. This drawing school is paired with a school of sacred music, the Ecole Saint-Grégoire which was to ensure the formation of the mastery of the cathedral. Originally, the establishment is run by four brothers who advocate the ideal of the brothers of the Christian Schools. From then on, the Saint-Luc school will only develop despite the vagaries of history.
