About the university
Sarajevo is registered in the folder academic centers in this part of Europe the Gazi vakufnama from 1537. Gaza Husreff library, as associate members, is the oldest institution within the University of Sarajevo. After replacing the Ottoman Austro-Hungarian, were established Sharia Law School in 1887, the National Museum in 1888, Vrhbosna Catholic Seminary in 1890. Sarajevo-reljevska Orthodox Seminary in 1892 raised to the level of high school. The National Museum is today an associate, a Catholic college full member of the University of Sarajevo. Agriculture and Forestry Faculty was founded in 1940., Faculty of Medicine in 1944. The Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia, a year after World War II, in Sarajevo began with the work and the Teacher Training College and the Institute of Biology. After, after, Medical, Legal and Agriculture and Forestry, open and Faculty of Engineering, the Assembly of the People's Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1949 adopted the Law on the University of establishing the University of Sarajevo. Faculty of Philosophy (with natural and Mathematics) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and become its new members 1950. In the coming decades there followed a period of dynamic growth.
