Founded in 1961, Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Federal University of Alagoas) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the medium-sized city of Maceio (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Alagoas. Officially accredited/recognized by the Ministério da Educação, Brazil (Ministry of Education, Brazil), Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) is a coeducational higher education institution. Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. UFAL institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations.
