About the university
A UFT - Universidade Federal do Tocantins - foi criada por lei no dia 23 de outubro de 2000, mas só começou a funcionar de fato no segundo semestre de 2003, com a posse dos primeiros professores concursados e a incorporação de 25 cursos de graduação da Unitins. Hoje, a Universidade tem cerca de 12 mil alunos, 48 cursos de graduação, oito mestrados, um doutorado e dezenas de cursos de especialização lato sensu. Nesses sete anos, nossas ações nos renderam lugar de destaque entre as instituições da Região Norte, tanto no ensino quanto na pesquisa e na extensão.
