Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD)

Taking advantage of the Federal Government's Expansion Program of Federal Institutions of Higher Education in Brazil, the UFGD was created in 2005 under the supervision of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), with public investments in physical and personnel infrastructure and in the creation of New undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with the intention of incorporating the University Hospital into the structure of the new University. The institution, initially with its seven undergraduate courses, began to expand considerably afterwards with its inclusion in the Restructuring and Expansion Program of Federal Universities - REUNI. It has expanded its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the number of teachers and administrative technicians and the offer of vacancies for students from all over Brazil. With a policy of inclusive education, the UFGD begins to offer vacancies also for differentiated teaching, such as for indigenous communities and rural settlements, and for municipalities in the region through Distance Education. In its nine years of existence, the Institution already collects achievements of positive indicators in the Ministry of Education, being evaluated annually as the best Higher Education Institution of Mato Grosso do Sul, among public and private, and is also among the best in the Cento Oeste Still competing in the ranking of the best in the country.
