About the university
The university was founded in 1942 as a Higher Technical School (University), which later - in 1945, became a State Polytechnic. In 1953 he separated as Civil Engineering Institute (ISI), which in 1963 was renamed the Higher Institute of Civil Engineering (hang), and in 1977 - at the Higher Institute of Architecture and Construction (VIAS). In 1990 the Institute was renamed the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (the University) by decision of the General Meeting of the vias and on July 21, 1995 was officially transformed into a university by the National Assembly. On 15.11.2001 received institutional accreditation.
