About the university
Computer University (Mandalay) started to open on February 1, 2002. The building type is three-storeyed RC and concreting was launched on July 7, 2003. It is U shape building 569 feet long and 313 wide, which has total floor area 144567 sq ft. Each floor is 14 ft high and total height is 56 ft 6 inch. There are 48 rooms which have 40×30ft in this university building. With the guidelines of State Chiefs, main building construction project CU(Mdy) was launched by clearing land and gathering materials in May, 2003. Foundation ceremony on construction of the University building was held on June 27, 2003. Naung Tone Construction Company undertook construction and the task of land-digging were launched with the force of human labor and machine on July 1, 2003. According to the letter of chairman office of State Peace and Development Council dated January 19, 2007, Government Computer College has been upgraded to Computer University (Mandalay) level on January 20, 2007.
