About the university
MIIT, Mandalay is set up by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as a National Centre of Excellence in IT and allied areas. MIIT is set up to emerge as an institution of global repute in education and research within a short time based on the highly acclaimed and successful model of the International Institute of Information Technology in Bangalore, India. The Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India has provided development assistance to build and operate MIIT for a period of 5 years through mentoring by IIITB. IIITB is considered one of the finest examples of an institution of international repute in India that came to prominence within a short span of 15 years to be a leader in education and research in IT and allied areas. IIITB has also enhanced its reputation through its strong university-industry linkages, and fostering of entrepreneurship. IIITB has been chosen to mentor, build, and operate MIIT in Mandalay for the period 2015-2020.
