About the university
Belarusian National Technical University is the leading technical university in the Republic of Belarus. The University has 35,000 registered students and it comprises 16 Faculties and 5 Institutes. Academic and research activity of the University covers practically all sectors of national economy and technical research, namely: biology, ecology, energy, renewable energy, mechanical and electrical engineering, information technologies etc. The University trains specialists for national economy in various fields of study with 86 specialties (Bachalor’s degree) and 40 specialties (Master’s degree) at 105 departments. More than 1800 highly qualified lecturers and scientists involved in teaching and research. The University academic staff consists of 2702 persons. We are proud of the fact that 1049 are awarded with academic degrees, including 2 Academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 152 Doctors of Sciences (D.Sc.), 127 Professors and 604 Candidates of Sciences (Ph.D.), 604 Associate Professors. The BNTU meets the challenges of the 21st century combining classical University traditions with modern approaches and technologies. According to the statistics, BNTU is among 801-100 top universities in QS World University Ranking, and takes 103 place in the EECA (Eastern Europe and Central Asia) rank list. Besides, the University provides various facilities for the students' personal growth and recreation: sports facilities, cultural centers, libraries, student clubs, etc.
