The official date of the creation of the Mogilev Teachers' Institute was July 1, 1913. The opening of the institute, which was led by its first director, the candidate of theology, VN Tychinin, occurred on October 1, 1913. The first graduation of teachers in the number of 33 people took place in 1916. At the institute, then, there were eight teachers. In December 1918, the Teachers' Institute was reorganized into pedagogical and received the status of a higher educational institution. It conducted training in socio-historical, physical, mathematical, biological and literary-artistic cycles and workers in pre-school institutions. In 1934, the departments of the Institute were reorganized into the departments: historical, geographical, language and literature with the Russian and Belarusian branches. In 1937, at the Pedagogical Institute, a teacher's institute was established with a two-year period of study, and in 1938 a post-graduate course was opened. During this period, its material base has also considerably expanded. In 1931 he received a three-story educational building with well-equipped offices and laboratories. Somewhat later, a sports hall, a shooting range, a four-story student hostel were built.
