About the university
Polotsk is the oldest center of statehood, education, culture and spirituality of our country. With this city are associated the names of outstanding educators - Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Francisk Skaryna and Simeon of Polotsk. Here the university education takes its roots on the modern territory of Belarus: in 1581 the Polotsk Jesuit collegium was founded, which was transformed two centuries later into the Polotsk Academy with the rights of the university.
