About the university
Founded in 1969 , the CEGEP de Victoriaville succeeds the renowned college College Sacré-Cœur. It was merged in 1970 with the School of Furniture and Woodwork, which was founded in 1965. In 1984, École du meuble inaugurated a small cabinetmaking school in Montréal, which moved permanently to rue de Lorimier in 1991. Since 1991, this Cégep de Victoriaville campus has been called the École du meuble de Montréal. It is named after the National School of Furniture and Cabinetmaking and is one of five national schools recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education .
