About the university
The Cégep du Vieux Montreal is a general and vocational college ( CEGEP ), located at 255 East Ontario Street, in the borough of Ville-Marie in the city of Montreal in Quebec . Founded in 1968 , the Cégep consisted of a number of educational pavilions, formerly schools with distinct charters, all located on the outskirts of the borough of Ville-Marie: Institute of Applied Arts Collège Mont-Saint-Louis Montreal Institute of Technology Collège Sainte-Marie School of Graphic Arts Schools of nurses in downtown hospitals (Saint-Luc, Notre-Dame, Hôtel-Dieu, de la Misericorde and Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc) The college also included six buildings that were then used for sporting activities. In August 1976 , the current Cégep du Vieux Montréal campus was inaugurated at 255, rue Ontario East.
