About the university
Founded in 1968 , the Cégep de Saint-Laurent inherits vast green fields and old buildings of the College de Saint-Laurent, which opened in 1847 by the Fathers of Sainte-Croix . The first Quebec troupe, Compagnons de Saint-Laurent , led by Father Émile Legault, was born in 1937 . More recently, a college center for technology transfer affiliated with the CEGEP was recognized by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research in 2008 . This center, the CTE ( Water Technology Center ), offers research and development , technical support and business training.
