About the university
Our educational project began in 1982 with the creation of the Professional Institute of Higher Studies Blas Cañas, an institution that was born with the solid support of Cardinal Raúl Silva Henríquez. In 1990 the Ministry of Education approved its operation as Blas Cañas University and in 1993 the Episcopal Conference of Chile recognizes it as Catholic, joining together with the Salesian Congregation of Chile as active partners of the institution.
