About the university
The University of Tarapacá is a Chilean university, of state character, whose central headquarters is located in Arica, capital of the XV Region. He is part of the Association of Regional Universities of Chile, the Council of Rectors of the Chilean Universities and the Consortium of Universities of the State of Chile. The university is recognized worldwide for its constant contribution to the development of the Archeology of the Great North of Chile and for its rapid growth and strategic positioning, at national and Latin American level. A high percentage of their academics have had access to various training programs and 82% of them have reached the master's and doctoral degrees. The University of Tarapacá ranks as the 13th Chilean university according to the CSIC's webometrics classification, in January 2012 and in 20th place according to a ranking of AméricaEconomía. Meanwhile, the 2012 ranking of QS World University ranked it among the 200 Best universities in Latin America.
