About the university
The Universidad del Bío-Bío is a Chilean institution of higher education, located in the Biobío Region, with headquarters in Concepción and Chillán. He is one of the twenty-five universities of the Council of Rectors of the Chilean Universities, and member of the Association of Regional Universities of Chile. It is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (CNA), for a period of five years from August 2014 to August 2019 in the areas of management, teaching, research and linkage with the environment. The UBB is listed as the eighth Chilean university according to the web-based classification of the CSIC 2013. in 17th place according to the QS Latin American University Rankings 2013 and in 17th place according to the ranking of AméricaEconomía 2012
