About the university
Shaanxi Normal University, the predecessor was founded in 1944 in Shaanxi provincial teachers college. In May 1949, Shaanxi Provincial Teachers College and the National Northwestern University Faculty of Education merged to set up the Northwest University Teachers College. 1954 Northwestern University Teachers College changed its name to Xi'an Normal College. In 1960, Xi'an Normal College merged with Shaanxi Normal College , founded in 1956 , to set up Shaanxi Normal University. In 1978, he was placed under the Ministry of Education. 2005 was identified as the national "211 Project" focused on the construction of colleges and universities. The school now has 21 colleges, a basic experimental teaching center and the National Education Institute (matriculation education), 63 undergraduate majors, 18 postdoctoral research station, 15 first-level doctoral degree, 112 doctoral degree authorization Professional, 40 first-level master's degree, 197 secondary master's degree, a doctorate degree in education, 22 master's degree (including 8 master's degree in engineering).
