About the university
Guangxi Medical University was founded in November 21, 1934, is located in the "Green City," said the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Nanning City, the school covers an area of more than 710,000 square meters. Formerly known as the Guangxi Provincial Medical College. In 1940 the school site moved to Guilin. Before 1949, the school in the war seven times the migration site, three times to change the school name. November 1949 changed its name to Guangxi Medical College. In 1952 by the Central Ministry of Health commissioned by the direct leadership of the Ministry of Health. In April 1953 the Central Ministry of Health approved the renamed Guangxi Medical College. July 1954 moved from Guilin to Nanning City, the current site so far. In 1996 May the Ministry of Education approved the change to Guangxi Medical University. The school is one of the 22 medical schools that have been established in the country. It is one of the eight medical colleges and students of the country's first designated foreign students, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and overseas Chinese students. It is approved by the Ministry of Education. One of the first 30 colleges and universities of international students is one of the most important universities in Guangxi. It is the center of medical education, medical research, clinical medical care and preventive health care in Guangxi.
