About the university
China Institute of Labor Relations is the only general undergraduate college affiliated to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The predecessor of the China Institute of Labor Relations was the administrative cadres school of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border area separated from the North China Union University in April 1946. In early 1949, the school moved to Tianjin, renamed the North China staff cadre school. In September 1949, according to Comrade Liu Shaoqi's instructions, the North China Staff and Cadre School was renamed as the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Cadre School, and Vice Chairman of the National Federation of Trade Unions, Vice-President Li Lisan. Approved by the Party Central Committee and Comrade Liu Shaoqi personally approved the school site, in August 1954, the school moved from Tianjin to Beijing. In 1984 September, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions cadre school officially converted into China Institute of Industry and Technology, began for the national trade union system and society to carry out adult education. In May 2003, China Institute of Industry and Trade reform was upgraded to ordinary undergraduate institutions, and changed its name to China Institute of Labor Relations.
