About the university
In 1975, the Ministry of Transport invested in Qingdao to build the "Qingdao Water Transport Technician School". September 1978, the Ministry of Transportation decided to Qingdao water transport technical school to subordinate secondary school, changed its name to Qingdao Harbor School. March 2001 Qingdao Port Authority formally reported to the provincial government, "Qingdao Harbor School on the reconstruction of Qingdao Harbor Vocational and Technical College of the request" to start the preparatory work of vocational colleges; June 2002, Shandong Province Department of Education agreed to the following Qingdao Harbor Vocational and Technical College and included in the national college enrollment plan. May 14, 2003 Shandong Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Qingdao Harbor Vocational and Technical College.
