About the university
Tarim University, formerly known as Tarimok Reclamation University , is located in the south of Xinjiang Tarim River in the city of Alar. The school was founded in 1958, the State Council Academic Degrees Committee approved the first batch of bachelor's degree grant of the undergraduate institutions, in 2003 received a master's degree grant, in May 2004 by the Ministry of Education approved, renamed the Tarim University. Formerly the Ministry of Agriculture directly under the university, is now the central and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to build. As of December 2015, the campus area of 2570 acres, the school building area of 400,000 square meters, all kinds of students in more than 13000 people, including full-time undergraduate students more than 12,800 people, full-time graduate students more than 300 people.
