About the university
Sichuan University of Media and Communications (Sichuan University of Media and Communications) is located in Chengdu , Sichuan Province , is approved by the Ministry of Education set up full-time undergraduate institutions, Sichuan Normal University graduate training base. College predecessor was established in 1997, Chengdu Institute of Technology Radio and Television Academy. In 2001, changed its name to Chengdu University of Science and Technology Radio and Television Academy . In 2013, the Ministry of Education approved the transfer to Sichuan Media Institute. As of January 2016, the college covers an area of more than 2000 acres, the school area of nearly 60 million square meters, there are various laboratories, internships, training room nearly 100, teaching equipment worth 190 million yuan; 13 teaching department (department), opened 51 undergraduate majors, 39 specialist professional; more than 1,000 teachers, more than 20,000 students in school.
