The school was founded in 1948, Jilin Railway Economic School (secondary school) and founded in 1958, Jilin Railway Transport Workers University, in June 2001 the merger of the two schools, in February 2006 converted to Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical College, It is in Jilin Province the only one with a specialty in railway vocational colleges .
