About the university
historical development Update time：2013年12月17日 The college was founded in August 1964, named as “Jilin Industrial Institute of Nonferrous Metals”, and in March 1965, it was changed into “Jilin Medium Technology Institute of China Goldmine Corporation”. In December 1970, its name was changed again into “Jilin Metallurgical Industry College”. In January 2002, it was officially upgraded into “Jilin Technology College of Electronic Information”. The college began the cooperative correspondence education with Kunming Institute of Technology in 1988 and with Northeastern Institute of Technology in 1990. In 2001, the college started to take in correspondence students with intentions to upgrade from junior college to university with Northeastern University. In 2003, the college was officially approved to be the examiner school for self-taught examinations of higher vocational education by Jilin Self-taught Examination Committee.
