About the university
Henan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST), founded in 1939, is a provincial ordinary undergraduate institution. It originated from Biology of Yan’an Academy of Natural Sciences, a department which was under control by Provincial Pingyuan Agricultural School and the Changzhi attachment of Beijing Agricultural University. Since its establishment, the Institute has undergone several developments including Pingyuan Agricultural College, BaiQuan Agricultural Junior College and Henan Normal Institute of Vocational Technology. Approved by Chinese Ministry of Education, it changed its name to Henan Institute of Science and Technology in May 2004.
