About the university
Shanghai Tourism College, located in Shanghai, founded in 1979, when the name of "Shanghai travel tour specialist school", under the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office. In 1980, the Ministry of Education approved the change to "Shanghai Tourism College". In 1983, was placed under the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Bureau , the Higher Education Bureau dual leadership. In 1986, was placed under the leadership of the National Tourism Administration. In 1992, changed its name to "Shanghai Tourism College". In 2000, was placed under the leadership of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. 2003, was placed under the management of Shanghai Normal University, with the original Shanghai Normal University City and Tourism Institute merged to form Shanghai Normal University Tourism Institute.
