About the university
Beijing Open University is held by the Beijing Municipal Government, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, with modern information technology as the support, for adults to carry out long-distance open education of new colleges and universities. Its predecessor, Beijing Radio and Television University was founded in 1960, June 2012, approved by the Ministry of Education changed to Beijing Open University (school code 51160).
