About the university
Qinghai Nationalities University is one of the earliest colleges and universities established by the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is one of the earliest national colleges and universities in the new China. It is the first batch of universities that have obtained the master's degree grant. The Qinghai Provincial People's Government and the State- "Basic capacity building project in central and western colleges and universities". The school was founded in December 1949, after the training of young cadres in Qinghai Province, Qinghai Province People's Public School, Qinghai Provincial Ethnic Studies, Qinghai Nationalities College and other school stage. In 2002, 2005 Qinghai Normal College and Xining Railway driver school has been incorporated into the Qinghai Nationalities Institute. In April 2009 changed its name to Qinghai University for Nationalities. In 2012, the Ministry of Education to determine the Tianjin University counterparts to support the Qinghai Nationalities University. In 2017, Xiamen University counterpart support Qinghai National University.
