About the university
Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical College was established in 1999 by the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of full-time higher vocational and technical college, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education direct management. School predecessor was founded in 1933, "Guangdong Province, the first vocational school", has been 80 years of vocational education history. June 2006 the school received the Ministry of education of higher vocational education personnel assessment level of work to obtain excellent. 2007 was listed as provincial-level demonstration institutions of construction units. 2008 was listed as a national model higher vocational colleges construction units; in 2011, with excellent grades through the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance organized demonstration acceptance; 2016, was listed as Guangdong Province first-class vocational colleges construction units.
