About the university
Zhejiang Institute of Hydraulics & Estuary (ZIHE) is located in Hangzhou, a picturesque city famous for its long history and brilliant cultural heritage. Founded in 1957, ZIHE is a provincial research institution under the joint leadership of the Department of Water Resources and the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province. In 2011, to meet the new needs in the context of Zhejiang Marine Economic Development Strategy, the Institute took the initiative to apply for a new role as Zhejiang Institute of Marine Planning and Design, which was officially approved by provincial authorities.
