About the university
College formerly known as Guangdong Shaoguan Iron and Steel Group workers University, was founded in March 1976, the school was named Shaoguan Iron and Steel Plant "seven one two" workers University; June 1982, Guangdong three metallurgical workers college Merged into Shaogang University of Staff and Workers, from the management of Shaoguan Iron and Steel, and moved to the original site of Guangdong University of Technology, Qujiang District; in June 2000, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government approved the restructuring of ordinary higher vocational schools in June 2014, by Shao Steel transferred to Guangdong Province Department of Education directly under the management.
