About the university
The National Taitung University is a national university in Taitung City, Taitung County, Taiwan. NTTU was originally established in 1948 as Taiwan Provincial Taitung Teachers’ School. In 1969, it was upgraded to Taiwan Provincial Taitung Teachers’ Junior College, to Taiwan Provincial Taitung Teachers’ College in 1987 then to National Taitung Teachers’ College in 1991. Finally in 2003 it was upgraded to National Taitung University. NTTU is a public university with more than 5,000 students. NTTU is the premier center of higher education in the Taitung area. We bring groundbreaking ideas to industry and assist in the innovation and “greening” of local businesses. Our award-winning faculty members are renowned for working closely with students to solve major scientific, technological and societal challenges. We put a strong emphasis on creating things—from art to bio-energy systems.
