About the university
The University of Córdoba was founded in 1962 in Montería, Córdoba, Colombia by a group of professionals who saw the great potential of the region. Originally, the idea of creating an institution that allowed the young people of the department to enter higher education was Dr. Elias Bechara Zainúm, who was chosen as the first rector of the Alma Mater two years after its founding. The university began academic activities in 1964, enrolling a total of 101 students, 50 for the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and 51 for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, of which 65 passed entrance exams and interviews. At the moment the University of Cordova counts on 28 undergraduate programs, 3 programs of masters and several specializations and graduates.
