About the university
The UIS, an official institution of the departmental order, is fundamentally aimed at the formation of man, through the generation and diffusion of knowledge in its various branches. As an academic institution of higher education it frames its organizational structure around the knowledge in five faculties: Physicomechanical Engineering, Physicochemical Engineering, Sciences, Health and Humanities. These in turn combine the fields of knowledge into activities that constitute the missionary functions centered on teaching, research and extension. The General Directorate of Regionalization is in charge of planning, promoting, directing, coordinating, evaluating and promoting the academic quality of the regionalization programs of the Industrial University of Santander. In addition, this body is constituted in the corresponding instance for the decision making directly related to the headquarters, to allow a greater agility and active participation of the people directly related to its activity.
