About the university
The University of Manizales is a private university in Colombia. Its campus is located in Manizales, Caldas. In 1972, it was created as a Cooperative University by the Cooperative for the Promotion of Higher Education, COOFES. On the 24th of July in 1972 200 students began classes of Public Accounting, Law, Economics and Psychology at the headquarters of the Industrial Technology Institute. In 1983 , due to the redefinition of its mission and objectives, it changed its name to Fundación Universitaria de Manizales, FUNDEMA. On the 7th of April in 1992 by Resolution 2317 of the Ministry of Education , is given recognition as a university, then changing its name to University of Manizales. The main campus of the University of Manizales is located in the Campohermoso neighborhood, where all undergraduate and postgraduate activities take place. It also has a Psychological Care Center (CAP) in the Estrella neighborhood, where students from the Psychology program carry out their outreach and research activities.
