About the university
Tumaco Headquarters was created by the Higher University Council through Agreement No. 14 of March 10, 1997, under the administration of Professor Guillermo Páramo Rocha, who became interested in his management group in improving knowledge of the country and strengthening its borders . However, since then, this institution was institutionally stayed in the role and only until 2008 began again to rescue this important project, for the benefit of the Colombian Pacific community. Thus, as the creation of the Institute of Studies of the Pacific (IEP) as an academic unit that develops missionary activities of training, research and extension, through the agreement 017 of 2009, has given support to the Headquarters and today the National University Of Colombia is committed to the start-up of the Tumaco headquarters.
