La Universidad Isaac Newton es propiedad de la Fundación Universitas, organización sin fines de lucro inscrita desde el 18 de diciembre de 1981 en el Registro de Personas Jurídicas de Costa Rica. Su actual Presidente (segundo históricamente) es el Dr. Greivin Arrieta Chacón, Abogado y Politólogo quien ostenta total representación de la entidad en el plano jurídico-contractual. Su Rector (tercero históricamente) es el Licenciado Francisco Javier Vargas Solano, Notario Público, Abogado y experto en temas de Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales.
