About the university
In 1952, five young women entered the University of Costa Rica, breaking the paradigm that university education was an exclusive privilege of men. In 1955, after obtaining a bachelor's degree in the English language, they set out to found the first commercial school in Costa Rica, in which bilingual secretaries would be formed. That was how Boston School began in that year. The place where he started was in an old residence of the father of one of the founders, located in the center of the city of San Jose, a few meters from one of the oldest cinemas, Cine Variedades. For many years, Boston School specialized in courses in Secretarial, Writing, Archiving, Shorthand, Writing, Writing, Grammar and Typing. In recent years, the Boston School of Secretaries changed its name to Boston College and significantly expanded the course offerings. In addition, in 2003 began the expansion to different points of the country with the opening of regional headquarters.
