About the university
University of the Sciences of the Physical Culture and the Sport "Manuel Fajardo" (UCCFD) . It is the institution responsible for the training and improvement of teachers in the areas of sport , Physical Education and Recreation in accordance with the objectives established by the Cuban System of Physical Culture and Sports. It is located in Santa Catalina and Boyeros and Primelles, Cerro , Havana. The origins of the current Institution are linked to the constitution in 1961 of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation ( INDER ), a Cuban sports body that created the School of Physical Education (ESEF) The conduction of the teaching of Physical Education , Sport and Recreation in Cuba. Higher Education Center operates from 9 of September of 1973 , adopting the name Higher Institute of Physical Education Manuel Fajardo.
