About the university
Before the Handelsskolen in Randers was established in 1877, there had been various additions to a trade school. In 1796, co-owner Niels Brock, who originally came from Randers, established a will in which he donated a great deal of his fortune to a trading school. In 1821, Frederik Thaarup (in vain) sought to establish the first commercial college. The 1860s and 1880s established the first real trading schools in the larger Danish market towns. Randers Handelsforening was founded in 1840, but Handelsskolen in Randers was established only in 1877. The school of Søren Møller's school is home to the trade school. 1957: The trade school has its own building Handelsskolen will have its own building on Rådmands Boulevard in 1957. The Municipality of Randers donated the foundation, worth a total of DKK 70,000. It costs DKK 1,170,000 to construct the school, which houses 18 classrooms.
