Catholic and Techn. Univ. of Cibao (UCATECI)

The Catholic University of Technology Cibao - UCATECI - is a heritage of the community, born to contribute to the development of the Cibao Region and the whole country offering equal opportunities to all who possess the desire and the entrepreneurial spirit to cultivate The knowledge in the Technological area as well as in the scientific area. Its status as a community heritage commits UCATECI to allocate all its resources, be they the result of donations, productions or loans, in the pursuit of the welfare of the community, to favor all Sectors, especially those with less economic possibilities. UCATECI, unlike a for-profit company, has no distribution or appropriation of goods, but its revenues are returned to the community in services that satisfy a wide range of needs. Being as it is, of the community, it is ruled and oriented by the Catholic Church. The organization and government that govern UCATECI, rests in a foundation, which serves as a support and protection organization for management, creating mechanisms for good management and administration. There is a Board of Directors, made up of members elected at the Ordinary General Assembly of UCATECI, which knows, tests and guides the Institutional Development Master Plan. The Rectory is the organ of conduction and execution of the multiple programs, projects and variables that constitute its triad of teaching, research and extension. UCATECI has three Vicerrectorías: the Academic, of Development, and the Administrative one. The Vice-Rectors are assigned by the Board of Directors based on the recommendations of the Rector. Their main function is to ensure compliance with the general policies of the University and to collaborate in the planning and execution of the same.
