About the university
Helsinki Conservatory is Helsinki located in a private, foundation run by music college. The conservatory is given to early childhood music education music play school, basic art education, music school and adult education. The conservatory may also perform the second stage of music occupational degree (the musician or piano tuner). Conservatory roots date back to the year 1922, when Helsinki Finnish Adult Education Center Director Zachris Castrén and the University of Helsinki in musicology and associate professor of the Helsinki Finnish grammar school singing teacher Armas Launis decided to set up the People's Conservatory of Helsinki. Its current name, institution introduced in 1971.
