About the university
Xamk provides a broad range of education services. - bachelor’s and master’s programmes - open UAS studies and study paths - multidisciplinary continuing education - specialisation education - apprenticeship training in higher education Full-time studies leading to a bachelor-level degree last 3.5-4 years (210-240 ECTS). You can apply to study for a master’s degree if you have a degree from a university of applied sciences or another higher education degree plus at least three years of work experience in the relevant field of study. Studies in a master-level degree programme take 2.5 years (90 ECTS). Open UAS Anyone interested in studying may take Open UAS courses, regardless of age and previous education. Open UAS studies do not lead to a degree but may be recognised as prior learning if you become a degree student in the same field of study. Students may choose individual courses or larger modules (study paths).

Student visa
Students from outside the EU/EEA countries need a residence permit for the studies in Finland. Please note that a residence permit can be granted only for studies on campus (not for online studies).
Accommodation
Student accommodation is not provided by the university but is conveniently available through local student housing organisations in campus towns. Shared housing is the most affordable option and it costs appr. 300-400 euro per month. Most of the student residences have the basic furniture including bed, desk, chair, and table and benches in the kitchen. Students can make use of all the second hand shops available for other things they will need: mattress, pillow, blanket, dishes etc.
Scholarships
The scholarship scheme available for students liable to pay tuition fees includes the Early Bird scholarship for the first study year, the scholarships for other study years are based on study progress and studies in the Finnish language. Please find more information at www.xamk.fi/tuition-fees.
