About the university
Turku Conservatory is built in the grounds of the shipyard hall completed in 1928 and the rope factory built in 1934. The Sigyn hall and its reception areas combine old shipyard atmosphere with internationally recognised modern architecture, and provide excellent facilities for concerts, seminars and events. The conservatory opened in 1962 in Turku music school. In 1978 the name was changed to Turku Conservatory. Turku Conservatory Support Association has the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture to organize permissions in education and the arts in secondary vocational basic education. Turku Conservatory has worked in the disposal areas Varvintori Art College campus since 1994. The former rope factory and dock management renewal Conservatory of Music has been awarded mm. Steel Design Award. The work of planning, LPR architects subsequent to, for example, the Helsinki Music Center.
